He is a 40 year old Chartered Mechanical Engineer with 13 years of experience in the power generation industry.
Currently he works in the UK in the asset management team for a renewable energy investment fund. He follows and coordinate the construction and operation management of three biomass plants, liaising with a number of players involved in the projects. He also works with the investment team on new deals and other technologies.
Before this new challenging and interesting opportunity, he worked for about 5 years as a Senior Consultant in the lenders technical advisory world, performing technical due diligence studies up until financial close, and after also with construction and operation monitoring activities. He went to site and worked with lenders, developers, contractors and the other players involved.
Prior to that he worked as a process engineer for 5 years in Italy for Foster Wheeler. During this period he spend one and an half year on site in SE Asia as project/commissioning engineer. With FWI he performed feasibility studies, FEED and EPC phases of several projects. Prior to that, he worked one year on the maintenance division in three different power plants with Endesa Italia.
What he can offer with his expertise is the capability of considering and analysing power projects from several points of view: not only technical, but also financial, contractual and environmental. He gained direct experience on the conceptual/feasibility study and design phases, as well as during construction, commissioning, start-up, operation and maintenance. He is very objective oriented and he can manage projects and lead teams of professionals with different specialties.
He has a proactive and open business development and networking approach, looking for new clients and project opportunities. He finds comfortable to deal with professionals of all levels. He has completed a project finance post-graduate certificate to enhance my knowledge of the financial aspects of the projects.
